Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue, only a moment. Proverbs 12: 19 (HCSB)
I’d like to expand on the words truth and lie as it pertains to good doctrine. Biblical truths are always good. The truth was true yesterday, continues to be true today and will remain true in the future.
Another aspect of true bible doctrine is that you can figure out the truth because several bible passages support the truth. The true doctrines support each other and fit together like puzzle pieces to form a correct understanding of God and His principles.
Lies, lying teachers, false doctrines and false beliefs stick out and don’t fit into the puzzle. Many times one bible passage is the foundation of the false belief and it is expanded upon by an influential person or by a group of people.
The false belief becomes popular but it doesn’t negate the fact that it is a lie. All the graves of the false teachers are still occupied. Only the grave of Jesus Christ is empty.
There are many lies within Christianity as well. Only careful study under the guidance of God, the Holy Spirit will uncover them. My wish for you is that you receive the gift of the Spirit called discernment instead the currently popular gift of tongues called unintelligible babble.
I know that my God, my intelligent creator does not want me rolling around on the floor laughing and and babbling uncontrollably. That gift serves no purpose and does not glorify God nor brings blessing to others. Perhaps today’s gift of tongues should be called demon possession.
May you walk with Jesus Christ daily who will provide to you your daily bread and pure living water.
praise our Lord,
