Free Christian Sunset Background 1st Peter 2: 11

Dear friends, I urge you as aliens and temporary residents to abstain from fleshly desires that war against you. (HCSB)

The rewards of sin are temporary and many times they hurt others, over the long term your sins hurt you. Most importantly sin hurts God and separates you from Him.

Adam and Eve, when they disobeyed God in the garden of Eden attempted to hide themselves from God. They realized that they ruined their relationship with Him and the perfect creation that God created for them.

God did not leave them nor destroy them at the moment of sin. He implemented the plan of salvation. God himself was to pay the penalty for sin in His death on the cross.

At Jesus’ return He will execute judgement on the unrepentant living and reward His faithful repentant servants.

It really is best to abstain from sinful desires.
