Hollow and deceptive philosophy

Though this Christian desktop wallpaper uses Colossians 2: 6,7 I’d like to bring your attention to verse 8.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

Probably the typical reader of ChristianMingler has already decided to follow Christ and wishes to grow spiritually in Christ. If you haven’t already made this decision I encourage you to make an informed decision by reading the Bible, learning more about Jesus and though you may believe that it doesn’t help, praying.

Question and verify what I write here because I may be practicing hollow and deceptive philosophy. Verify the thing that your pastor or priest tells you and find out if you’re following blind human traditions or whether it’s a practice that Christ directed us to follow. As Paul writes, may your faith be based on Christ Jesus and his words as recorded in the Bible.
