Paul directs the people he was writing to in Philippians chapter 4 to rejoice in the Lord always. There was a time in my life where I didn’t want to have anything to do with God and words from the Bible had no affect on me. I would have had no idea how being happy in the Lord was even possible.
Thank God He didn’t give up on me, though He had to be very patient with me for about 16 years. It’s very difficult to explain how you can be happy or as Paul states, to rejoice in the Lord. You simply have to experience it.
I found for myself that the more time I spent with God, through study and prayer, the more time I would want to spend with Him. I received joy and happiness from that time with God. This happiness is a gift or blessing from God. Friends, I wish that you are able to rejoice in the Lord always.
