Many are trading away eternal pleasures, the kind that Jesus will provide once he returns, for the temporary pleasures that this world offers. Look back in your life and remember those things that brought you pleasure. The purchase of a new car, a great night at a party, or finally getting that job promotion that you were striving for. That joy and happiness lasted for a while but now it’s gone.
Imagine joy and happiness that lasts forever. We have a difficult time doing this because we’ve never experienced this joy that grows and lasts forever, but Jesus promises it. I encourage you to start on this path or to return to this path by reading the rest of the wonderful words in Psalm 16.
